ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FOR CAPTIVE ANIMALS IN ZOOS

El Alsson British and American International School Project

GIZA ZOO ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME - WHOLE SCHOOL PROJECT

Monday 12 December 2011
A new exciting project has been taken up and El Alsson is proud to say it is the only school in Cairo to partake in it!
Dina Zulfikar is helping to improve the lives of animals living in the Giza zoo. She is collecting items to provide stimulation for the animals and get them playing.
I would like students to bring in as many of the following items as possible and leave them in the theatre office by Sunday 18th December. It would also be appreciated if some students could come to the zoo, give out items and watch the animals play.
Thank you so much for your help.
Together we can make a difference!

The items include:
• Soccer balls for lion cubs.
• Shredded paper in cardboard boxes for orangutans.
• Nuts, wrapped with the expiry date.
• Chewing bones for cubs, dogs, foxes and wolves.
• Pumpkin
• Hard toys for chimp babies.
